Abacus supports the Motor Neurone Disease Association

As part of its ongoing corporate responsibility initiatives, local fiduciary and fund services group, Abacus, has donated £940 to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Isle of Man).

Abacus nominates a local charity to receive the funds raised through its Charity Salary Deduction Scheme, which allows Abacus staff to contribute a chosen amount of salary every month into a charity pot. At the end of each quarter the amount collected in the pot is gathered by the company and allocated to a charity.

Motor Neurone Disease Association in the Isle of Man was set up in 1993 with the aim of providing practical help and support to make life a little more comfortable for people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) by helping people in a very practical way, but also offering support, information and advice.

Christine Pain, representative for MND Association, said: “Please accept my thanks on behalf of everyone at the Motor Neurone Disease Association for the very generous cheque for £940 resulting from the regular charity donations made by you and your colleagues at Abacus. The donation is a wonderful boost to our funds and will be well used to help people living with MND on the Island.”
