Hospice Isle of Man is very close to all our hearts

The Abacus Trust Group has donated £1254.50 to the hospice after taking part in a range of fundraising efforts to support the fantastic work it does on the Isle of Man.

The money was raised through a staff charity salary deduction scheme and a range of fundraising activities including bake sales and a raffle.

On behalf of the company, Director Sam Eves, presented a cheque to Sarah Cubbon, the charity’s Community Fundraiser.

Sam said: “With so many personal connections the Hospice is an organisation close to the hearts of many at Abacus and we all felt it important to be able to give something back and support the fantastic work they do. In recent years the team has extended its reach to offer a wide range of support services to families, friends and carers making it an integral part of Island life and we applaud its incredible work.”

Chief executive of Hospice Isle of Man, John Knight said: “Each year, we need to fundraise more than £5 million towards our running costs, so every penny raised, hour volunteered or service offered, really does make a life-changing difference to us so we can continue to help those living on the Island with a life-limiting or terminal condition.”
