Abacus Trust Group is delighted to have the opportunity to support Isle Listen as the staff selected Charity of the Quarter, raising the total sum of £763.20.
Abacus staff nominate a local Isle of Man charity with the aim to help improve the quality of life of people living in our community. All fundraising activities and staff salary contributions are added towards a quarterly total and matched pound for pound by the Group.
Isle Listen is a charitable initiative providing early intervention and prevention support across the Isle of Man in schools, the workplace and the wider community with a view to improving the approach to and perception of mental health.
As part of MCH Psychological Services, for more than 35 years the charity has provided vital emotional and mental health support to people living with cancer or other life-changing conditions.
According to Isle Listen one in eight 5-19 year old’s have a mental health problem and this continues to grow, with these problems following many children into adulthood. The charity aims to prevent this by taking vital action to ensure everybody on the Isle of Man feels emotionally empowered and effectively supported with their mental health.
Staff participated in a range of fun charitable activities throughout the period including an afternoon tea bake sale, company raffle and Euro’s sweep-stake tournament.
